| You've wondered what it would be like to step back in time, right? Now you can experience that very thing during a Prairie Woods "Time Travel" program. This is living history at its best. |

Imagine stepping back to 1888. Your whole group will undergo a transformation as you put on period costumes and new names, and pay a visit to the Danielson homestead in 1888. The whole family is busy preparing for a new arrival from Sweden. . . and you've arrived just in time to help out!

The American Indian History Village consists of reconstructed dwellings representing cultures 8,000 years ago, 3,000 years ago, and 500 years ago. Students also have the opportunity to experience a Historic-era tipi. |

|
During our Native Cultures program, groups learn about lifeways of humans through a long course of history. Try your hand at atlatl spear-throwers, starting a fire with flint and steel, and making toys from cattails. Students will gain a new perspective on land-use and history through the Native Cultures program. |
